The award ceremony will take place on October 29th 2017 in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The gala will be broadcast on television the same evening from 10:00 PM on by the ZDF (German Public TV).
The ECHO Klassik is awarded by the German Phono Academy (Deutsche Phono-Akademie), the cultural institute of the Federal Music Industry Association (Bundesverband Musikindustrie, BVMI). The jury consists of branch representatives from music industry, cultural sector and specialized press. Alongside the recognition of special productions and the support of young talents a further goal of the ECHO Klassik is to bring the fascination and diversity of classical music to a broad audience. Notably the television transmission provides a strong public platform for classical music and supports the publicity of the ECHO Klassik.
We congratulate the Quartetto di Cremona to the award as well as to their outstanding Beethoven cycle and enjoy this popular award with them!
