MIDEM Classical Award for audite's Edition Friedrich Gulda

Jan 24, 2010 News MIDEM Classical Award for audite's Edition Friedrich Gulda

Audite is being presented with the MIDEM Classical Award for its "Edition Friedrich Gulda – The early RIAS recordings", catalogue number 21404.
It was released in August 2009 and presents previously unpublished RIAS recordings with Friedrich Gulda from the archives of Deutschlandradio. This box set is part of a series co-produced by audite and Deutschlandradio Kultur.

Following numerous other awards, the Edition Gulda now has won the MIDEM Classical Award: one of the most prestigious international music prizes.

The Classical Awards are presented annually by an independent jury during the MIDEM music conference in Cannes. The jury is made up of music journalists from leading international music magazines, radio stations and musical institutions: no jury member is – as is the case with some of the other musical awards – a producer or manager of a label which has submitted releases for the prize. Thus the jury of the MIDEM Classical awards not only benefits from the profound musical knowledge of its members but is also independent of any obligations or constraints in relation to the production and marketing of the prize-winners.

For that reason, we are particularly delighted to receive the MIDEM Classical Award for our Edition Gulda!
The presentation of the awards will take place on Tuesday 26 January 2010 at 19.00 in the Auditorium Debussy at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
