Informationen

In the past year audite has, once again, successfully managed to realise its concept of offering both archive and new recordings of the highest quality. Outstanding releases included the first two volumes of our Grieg series with the WDR Sinfonieorchester under the baton of Eivind Aadland, the five CD boxed set of Shostakovich String Quartets with the Mandelring Quartett and Hideyo Harada’s new Schubert recording which immediately achieved remarkable success. We welcome the Swiss Piano Trio as new audite artists, making their début with not one but two discs, of Mendelssohn and Schumann piano trios, both to great acclaim. Of our historical releases, highlights included the Celibidache, Fricsay and Klemperer editions, as well as the Fritz Wunderlich recording of Stravinsky’s Perséphone. Our 14 LP boxed set of Furtwängler recordings was another extraordinary edition, this time presented on vinyl, continuing the international triumph of our 12 CD Furtwängler boxed set. The success of our work is mirrored by numerous international reviews and awards, including Diapason d’Or (Diapason), Editor’s Choice (Gramophone), Choc (Classica), Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik, Supersonic (pizzicato) and Stern des Monats (Fono Forum), and also by the nomination of no fewer than seven audite releases for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA).

audite continues unwaveringly in its quest for quality, in every production phase from the choice of artists and repertoire through recording sessions and technical equipment, to design, manufacturing and presentation of a new release. The impending re-launch of our website with enlarged facilities and a new design is also part of this philosophy. We believe that, despite all financial cuts and prophecies of doom, quality is still in demand, and that well researched, produced and edited products will find their place amongst the large number of budget releases. Our aim in adhering to the principle of quality is to create a platform for a musical and emotional experience in its best possible form, and to grant access to a creative and personal listening experience.

On that note, I hope that 2012 will bring you many enriching experiences and interesting discoveries at audite.
